Welcome to Warrior Whimsy!

I’m Katrina Lee—a mom, wife, grandma, and lifelong crafter. I’ve been sewing and creating for as long as I can remember and about 10 years ago I fell in love with making bags. I come from a family rich in military and civil service. My grandfather served in the Air Force during WWII and Korea, my uncles fought in Vietnam, my father was in the Coast Guard, my brother served in the Navy during Desert Storm, and my oldest son is an Army Guard veteran. When my youngest son joined the Marines I started making fun and funny stickers, inspiring shirts, and even a “Proud MOM” purse for myself. I also made a cover bag for him. That’s when the idea struck me—why not create bags from their uniforms? It took me nearly two years to get a set of cammies from my youngest son, but when I finally did, I made my first bag and unofficially launched Warrior Whimsy. My goal is simple: to honor the service and sacrifice of our “Warriors” by turning their uniforms into keepsakes that they—or their loved ones—can cherish forever. Each piece I create is a labor of love, a way to preserve memories and celebrate the incredible dedication of those who serve.
